UK house-level address search – terms

UK address search using Royal Mail's Postcode Address File (PAF), supplied by Ideal Postcodes.
LorryMate can look up a UK postcode in Royal Mail's official address list and show you every property on it – house numbers, house names, businesses – so you can pick the exact one. The data comes from Royal Mail's Postcode Address File (PAF®) and is supplied to LorryMate by Ideal Postcodes, a licensed Royal Mail data provider. Before your first search, the app asks you to agree to these terms.
What we ask for, and why
Royal Mail's licence requires us to be able to say who uses the data. So before your first search the app asks for your company name – or, if you drive for yourself and have no company, your name and postal address. We keep this on our list of address-search users, with your device number, the date and version of these terms you agreed to, your e-mail if you gave one, and how many searches you made each month. It is used only if Ideal Postcodes or Royal Mail audit the licence, and for nothing else. Version 1 users are asked once more for these details.
By using it you agree that
- You use the addresses only for your own work or travel – to find and drive to the places you need to reach, inside LorryMate.
- You do not copy, collect, sell, share or pass the address data on to anyone else, and you do not use LorryMate to build your own address list or a competing address service.
- Each driver makes their own search. An address one driver has looked up is never served to another driver from what LorryMate holds.
- The address data remains the property of Royal Mail and its licensors. PAF is a registered trade mark of Royal Mail Group Ltd.
- Ideal Postcodes may tell Royal Mail and its other licensors who uses the data and how, and they may contact LorryMate about it.
- Each search is recorded against your device (device number, time and postcode searched – not your location and not the address you chose).
- An address you choose is saved only on your own device. LorryMate's server keeps no addresses.
- The search has a monthly limit (shown in the app). Postcodes that are not found do not count.
- If you break these terms, or the licence ends, address search can be switched off for your device.
