What LorryMate collects

• Your location, while you are navigating, so a route can be calculated and you can be guided along it.
• Reports you choose to make — a street marked unsuitable, a bridge height, a property you add. Each is stored with its position, the time, and the reason you gave.
• Your settings — your vehicles and their dimensions, your language, your saved places.

What it does not collect

• No name, no telephone number, no contacts, no photographs.
• No continuous tracking. Your position is sent while a route is being calculated or followed, and not otherwise.
• No advertising identifiers. There are no adverts, no analytics and no third-party trackers in the app or on this website.

Where it is kept

On a server in the United Kingdom, run by me. Nothing is sold, and nothing is shared with a third party for their own purposes.

What happens to your road reports

They become part of the map. A street you mark as too narrow will be avoided for other drivers with a similar vehicle; a bridge height you record will be shown to them. That is the point of the app, and it only works because drivers report what they see.

Nothing you report is ever sent to your employer, to an insurer, or to anyone else. It becomes a mark on a map. That is all it becomes.

Reports carry no identifier for the person who made them. Nobody looking at the map can tell who was where, or when.

How long it is kept

Your settings stay on your device until you delete the app. Road reports stay in the map for as long as they remain useful — a restriction that has been removed gets removed from the map too. Location sent for routing is not kept after the route is calculated.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you can ask what is held about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted. Since the app holds no identifying information about you, in practice there is very little to hand over — but ask, and I will tell you exactly what there is.

This website

No cookies, no analytics, no trackers. Two pages fetch one small file each — the download page fetches the list of available versions, the guide page fetches the list of available languages. Neither identifies you.

The driver's guide

The guide is a single file with everything inside it: text, pictures and fonts. Once you have saved it, it makes no network requests at all — it works in aeroplane mode, which is the point of it.

It remembers two things: which step you reached, so you can put the tablet down and come back to it, and whether you set it to day or night. Both are stored by your browser on your own device and are never sent anywhere. Clearing your browser data forgets them; nothing else does.
